Post-Show Survival Guide: 5 Steps to Post-Wedding Show Sanity.

/ The "24-Hour Rule"

Stop. Don’t look at a single brochure tonight. Put the giant bag of flyers in a corner and pour a glass of wine (or grab a coffee). The "show fog" is real. Give your brain 24 hours to reset before you try to make any big decisions.

/ Create a "Wedding Only" Email

If you haven't already, create an email address like [YourNames]Wedding2026@gmail.com.

Pro Tip: Forward the digital brochures you liked to this new address. It keeps your personal inbox from being flooded and allows you and your partner to see everything in one place.

/ Trust the "Vibe" Over the Price

In six months, you won't remember the $50 you saved on a package, but you will remember if your photographer made you feel awkward or if your DJ played the wrong song.

  • The Litmus Test: Look at their Portfolio. Can you see yourself in those photos? If the answer is yes, that's your vendor.

/ The "Keep, Toss, Maybe" Sort

Sit down with your partner and empty the bag. Create three piles:

  • Keep: Vendors whose style you actually liked (and you remember their face/vibe).
  • Toss: Anything that doesn't fit your budget, style, or date. (Be ruthless—you don't need the clutter!)
  • Maybe: Vendors with good deals but you need to see more of their work.

/ Check the "Expiration Dates"

Bridal show "Specials" are great, but they usually have a 7-day or 14-day fuse. Look for the fine print on the flyers in your Keep pile.

  • Photography Tip: Most photographers (including me!) offer these credits because we want to reward the couples who are organized and ready to move. If you loved a portfolio, don't let $300 sit on the table!
